Course Description
This race is exclusively designed for the indomitable spirit, the robust physique, and the dauntless courage within you. Covering a staggering distance of 116 kilometers and a vertical climb of 7,500 meters to the majestic summits of Arjuno-Welirang, this challenge is not for the faint-hearted.
It is a test of mettle, a trial of endurance, and not meant for ordinary individuals. The race promises an unforgettable experience, combining the surge of adrenaline and the flow of endorphins, all while exacting a considerable toll on both physical and mental faculties.
Embark on a journey that involves climbing Arjuno-Welirang 2.5 times from the base, exploring the mountains with diverse terrains, vegetation, and abrupt climate changes.
The course modifications for this year’s race build upon the adjustments implemented in the 2023 route. Steep uphill sections of Mahapena have been eliminated, as well as the slippery terrain of Budug Asu. It is noteworthy that the course culminates with a challenging uphill climb to Candi Sepilar, introducing a final and formidable challenge to the participants’ journey.
Stringent safety measures will be applied, with a strict rule requiring descent from the summit of Arjuno only during daylight hours. Cruising down Arjuno after dark is strictly prohibited.
To enhance safety, a zoning system (Red, Yellow, and Green) based on altitude and potential risks will dictate safety protocols. Arjuno-Welirang, in this category, is exceptionally challenging from a natural perspective, and our commitment is to ensure your race is conducted safely, facilitating your completion of the course and a secure return to your loved ones.
Wishing you the best in your training regimen. Ensure it is a rigorous one, for this race demands nothing less!
